The FSCM Senior Companion Program seeks volunteers for participation in the National Senior Service Corp program, which is administered by the federal government through CNCS.
Income eligible companions will receive tax-exempt stipends and travel reimbursement while providing community service in volunteer positions through the SCP program stations. To be eligible to volunteer with the Senior Companion Program, candidates must be 55 years of age or older, and be able to provide 15 – 40 hours per week of individualized companionship and support to frail, often isolated, elders in the community.
Eligible volunteers will receive reimbursement for travel and meal expenses, a tax-free stipend, annual recognition, ongoing training, and friendship and camaraderie opportunities, as well as derive the personal satisfaction that comes from volunteerism.

All potential Senior Companion Volunteers must complete and clear the federally mandated background checks (CORI, NSOPW and FBI fingerprint checks) before beginning service.
